Partners For Animal Welfare Society

Partners for Animal Welfare Society, Inc. or P.A.W.S. is a 501(c)(3) entity and an Indiana not-for-profit corporation operating solely in Hancock County, Indiana. Our mission is to promote animal welafare through humane education and pet population control. Education is the cornerstone of all we do. Our programs include a foster pet program, a pet food pantry for low income pet owners, low cost spay/neuter programs and assistance, off-site adoption events for our foster pets and animal control shelter pets, and our classroom humane education programs.

I volunteer for P.A.W.S. and have adopted two cats from them..and hopefully a puppy very soon!!! I found a way to combine my scrapbooking hobby with my animal welfare passion...I am making cards for P.A.W.S. to sell at their fundraisers. A wonderful CTMH Consultant donated her stamp set called Puppy Love...here are cards I made with that set. I just bought the CTMH set called Purr.Fect...a cat counterpart to Puppy Love...so expect cat cards soon!!!

Cards, Cards, Cards!!!

I have never made cards before but have decided to venture out and give it a try! I LOVE all my new stamp sets from CTMH...perfect for cardmaking! Also I see how cardmaking is a great way to use up scraps from scrapbooking!

I DID IT !!!!!

Here is a LO I did for my son's graduation from Preschool. The paper set is School Zone from Close to My Heart.

First Haircut

Well I FINALLY got started on my son's album for his high school graduation in May 2010! Here is a LO I did on his first haircut. The stylist, Kathy sure is concentrating hard!!! I had saved a lock of his hair and included that in the LO in a shadowbox I made. I laugh at my hubbies glasses...could they have been any bigger?! lol

CTMH Acrylic Albums

I went to a CTMH Unit meeting and had a BLAST!!! We made an acrylic album...how fun! Here are pics of one that another consultant made at National Convention...she got hers complete and nicely embelished...I ran out of time to do my embelishments...still need to finish mie. I think these are a neat alternative to a traditional album and would be a great shower gift, teacher gift, etc.

DRIVE!!!

This was an easy LO in that Jessica has always had a passion for driving! I was happy to find her old bicycle license plate I had saved through the years..hmm destined to be a way back scrapbooker back then!

Dig! Set! Spike!

This is a LO of Jessica's volleyball career. For being 5'2" she sure was a good defensive specialist!! It was fun going to her meets, even though they were very long and the bleachers were very hard!!!

Oh Brother!!

This LO was also taken from CTMH Cherish book. I had fun reliving some of the moments between Jessica and her brother, Tyler. For a few years there, I wasn't sure they liked each other...but they are both growing up I guess and have decided that maybe they can be friend! lol

live love laugh

This LO was taken from CTMH Cherish book. It shows Jessica with her girlfriends.

Someone's Thinking Of Me

This LO is of Jesica and me. When she was a baby I would sing the song "Somewhere Out There" to her as she was falling asleep. I love the idea that no matter har far apart we may be we are still under the same big sky and we are never really that far away from each other...our hearts will always connect us.

Butterfly Kisses

This LO is of Jessica and her daddy. The journaling says, "You have been and always will be daddy's little girl. Whether you bat your beautiful eyelashes or whisper a sweet "daddy?!" you have him wrapped around your finger. Always remember the hugs and the butterfly kisses at night."

Snowboard Serenity

Jessica was on skis when she was 4 yrs old. She switched to snowboarding a number of years ago and is now a snowboard instructor. This LO is from pics of her "doing her thing" at Copper Mountain. She has told me that snowboarding provides such a sense of serenity.

Outward Bound

Jessica celebrated her 15th birthday in the mountains of NC rock climbing. She was selected for a Girl Scouts Destination trip. What an experience!

Lake of the Ozarks!!

Oh the lazy crazy days of summer!!! So many trips to the house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Learning to ski, wakeboard & kneeboard, tubing, jetskiing, and oh yea the labor intensive act of floating! So many fun times in the sun at the lake!

Dot Blankie!

This LO captures Jessica with her Dot Blankie. That blankie went everywhere with her. One side is dots the other is stripes and you never knew which way her mood would be...dots or stripes! It changed daily! The blankie is pretty worn and faded now but it will always be a symbol of Jessica!

Got Milk LO

This is a LO I did capturing my daughter's first exposure to cake! Man what a fabulous mess that was..but hey, any mess involving chocolate is so worth it!!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

Okay, here is my first attempt at posting something to a blog...guess it is time for me to enter the 21st century!

Here is a LO I did for my daughter's High School graduation book. This LO is meant to remind her of home, no matter how far away she may travel, home is always here for her. The LO template was from a CTMH book.
